Eric BRUMMITT
has completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Michigan. His dissertation focuses on music for the horn written by Italian composers, especially during the nineteenth century. He also holds degrees from Wichita State University and the University of Oregon. Mr. Brummitt has played with The Kirov Orchestra of St. Petersburg, Russia under music director Valery Gergiev, was formerly Assistant Principal Horn of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra, Principal Horn of the Metropolitan Ballet of Wichita and Third Horn of Wichita Grand Opera and was recently featured as horn soloist in BachÕs B Minor Mass. In addition to actively performing, Mr. Brummitt is the horn instructor at Albion College and Spring Arbor University, both located in Michigan. He is also on the faculty of the Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp and taught at CMB Rocks!, a chamber music camp for high school students that is part of Chamber Music at the Barn, a popular summer festival in Kansas. Mr. Brummitt has twice been a featured artist at the KNOB Festival for new music in Wichita, KS. His teachers include Douglas and Ellen Campbell, Sšren Hermansson, Bryan Kennedy, Amy Jo Rhine and Nicholas Smith.
